The EGS3070FFB Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breaker is an Eaton Cutler-Hammer Series G and Frame EG complete factory-assembled circuit breaker with a 3-pole design that is used for circuit protection in a variety of low-voltage applications. This circuit breaker, like all Series G breakers, is designed around a space-saving footprint, which is a huge advantage over conventional breakers and fusible devices, and it also has field-fitted accessories for enhancing its performance. The EGS3070FFB has a maximum interrupting capacity of 35 kAIC, with a continuous current rating of 70 Amps, and it is designed for applications with a 600 Volts AC voltage rating.
It has a sealed insulated enclosure that is designed to protect field personnel from hazardous internal components, and like every factory-assembled complete breaker, it consists primarily of an EG frame, a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit, 3 bolt-on type terminals, and an operating mechanism. The EGS3070FFB’s trip unit has a fixed trip unit which cannot be adjusted but it is capable of a fast-acting trip action. It provides the trip action by using a bimetal strip which deflects upon a prolonged overload, and with an electromagnet placed in a series with a circuit current which provides an instantaneous trip action when the line current exceeds the factory preset value. The EGS3070FFB has a hand toggle type of operating mechanism which is designed to keep the breaker contacts open during an abnormal current condition, and also to indicate if the breaker is on, off, or tripped. It is designed for a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, and it is 80% rated at this temperature value. The EGS3070FFB is AS, UL, CSA, CE, and BS certified, and it has an approximate shipping weight of 1.36 kilograms.
