The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EGS3060FFB Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a general-purpose breaker in the Series G and Frame EG line of thermal-magnetic circuit breakers that are used in most low-voltage applications for robust protection against short-circuits and overloads. It comes in a very compact but very efficient package that is designed to reduce the operation space, cost, and installation time, and it also comes with field fittable compact accessories for quick and easy use. The EGS3060FFB is designed for use with 600 Volts AC rated circuits, and it has a nominal current rating of 60 Amps with an interrupt rating of 35 kAIC. Unlike most Frame EG breakers, the EGS3060FFB comes with a bolt-on steel terminal option which allows for easy field wiring, and it also comes with a 3-pole design which can be field wired for both 1 and 3-phase applications.
Also, this breaker has a non-adjustable trip unit designed to provide both thermal and magnetic trip action by using load-heated bimetal strips and highly sensitive electromagnets wired in series with a line load. The EGS3060FFB has a hand toggle type of operating mechanism with quick make/break action that is designed to hold the contacts open by preventing them from being held closed during an overload, and it can also be used to reset the breaker after tripping and also to indicate the breaker’s position. The EGS3060FFB is designed to operate without de-rating below a temperature limit of 40 degrees Celsius, and like all Eaton Cutler-Hammer thermal-magnetic breakers, it is 80% rated below this temperature limit. The EGS3060FFB has an aggregate shipping volume of 76.2 x 139.7 x 75.9 millimeters, and it is UL, CSA, and CE-certified.
