The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EGS3045FFB Circuit Breaker is a molded case breaker from the Series G family of compact yet high-performance circuit breakers that is used for circuit protection in a variety of applications. This breaker features a high degree of circuit protection in a small/compact package, and it also features field fittable accessories, which reduces the installation time and saves spaces. The EGS3045FFB has a current rating of 45 Amps at 600 Volt AC maximum line voltage, and it features an interrupting capacity of 35 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. Like every frame EG breakers, it is HACR rated, and it comprises an EG frame, 3 bolt-on type terminals, a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit, with a toggle type operating mechanism pre-assembled.
The EGS3045FFB has a bolt-on type terminal option that is suitable for simple wiring system and it also has a 3-pole design with each terminal connected to each pole. Its trip unit is the fixed thermal and magnetic types, and it is designed to prevent field adjustment, thereby avoiding any human errors, and it is also capable of providing high-speed trip action (blow-open) using sensitive trip elements (bimetal and electromagnet). The EGS3045FFB has a hand toggle operating mechanism, which provides a means of operating the breaker’s contacts, as well as preventing the contact from closing during a circuit overload, and it has an additional function that tells the direction of the breaker (tripped, off, or on). The EGS3045FFB is 80% rated and it is calibrated for a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, and at temperatures above this value, the carrying current of the circuit begins to de-rate. The EGS3045FFB has UL, CSA, and CE certifications, and it is shipped with an average weight of 3.0 pounds and a total volume of 3.0 x 5.5 x 2.99 inches.
