The EGS2020FFG is a 2-pole Series G thermal-magnetic circuit breaker manufactured by Eaton. It is a member of the EG-Frame Type EGS family and it is rated at 20 Amps with a performance range of 18, 25, 25, and 100 kAIC at 600, 480, 415, and 240 Volts AC respectively. It provides a high-performance feeder and tapped, main, and branch circuit protection against overloads and fault currents in single-phase applications. Like all of Eaton's Series G circuit breakers, it is suitable for global applications. The EGS2020FFG circuit breaker features fixed magnetic and fixed thermal trip units as well as metric-threaded screw clamp type terminals on its line and load side. In comparison to standard circuit breakers with similar ratings, the compact design of this circuit breaker saves space by up to a 35% reduction of necessary installation panel space.
A toggle type switch functions as the operating mechanism of the EGS2020FFG thermal-magnetic circuit breaker and the position of this switch as well as a small window with color strips on the breaker's front panel indicate its operating state. The trip-free function of the EGS2020FFG thermal-magnetic circuit breaker enables the breaker to trip even in instances where the switch handle may be jammed or locked. All the internal components of the EGS2020FFG thermal-magnetic circuit breaker are adequately insulated by a glass polyester molded casing, which also repels moisture and fungus growth. Its rugged build makes it suitable for use in different industrial locations and all the breaker functions can last for several years without the need for maintenance, provided that the loads connected to this breaker do not exceed the specified ratings.
