The EGH3040FFG is a circuit breaker manufactured by Eaton. The circuit breaker has 3 operating modes which are the on, off, and tripped modes. When the circuit breaker is in the on mode, it operates as normal because it allows the current to pass through it and function normally. In the off mode, which is also known as the reset mode, the EGH3040FFG does not allow any current to pass through. When there is an event where the current that is passing through the device is more than the rated current in the on condition, the switch of the device trips to the tripped position in the center and puts the device in the tripped mode. This prevents any current from flowing and it isolates the input contacts and the output contacts.
For the EGH3040FFG to function normally, the users need to first move the switch to the off position to reset the device, and then they should move it back to the on position to resume normal operation. The maximum rated current of the EGH3040FFG is 40 Amps and the device has 3 poles. The trip type of the device is the fixed thermal and magnetic trip type. There are standard load and line terminations in the circuit breaker. When the users are installing the device, they need to make sure the power to the device is turned off first and that the switch is in the off position. They need to follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer and perform all the necessary functional tests and inspections before the system is used by the users. The users can contact the local distributor or visit the manufacturer's website for any assistance regarding the installation or for any part-specific information.
