The Westinghouse/Cutler-Hammer/Eaton EGE2090FFG is a complete circuit breaker. The EGE2090FFG has 2 poles and an amperage rating of 90 Amps. The breaker has an EG Frame type and it uses a fixed magnetic trip type. The EGE2090FFG breaker capacity is 35 kAIC at 240 Volts AC and 18 kAIC at 600Y/347 Volts AC at a frequency of 50 or 60 Hertz. The circuit breaker, as with other Eaton circuit breakers with an EG Frame, has special calibrations which are not UL listed and which cater to different operating frequencies and temperatures apart from the 50/60 Hertz frequency rating and the 40 degrees Celsius maximum temperature rating. The glass-polyester frame is moisture and fungus-resistant.
The EGE2090FFG is HACR-rated and it contains standard line and load terminals. Being a Series G circuit breaker, it is well tested for global use in a wide range of industrial applications. The EGE2090FFG accommodates the EIPBK interphase barriers which provide insulation between poles. Additionally, the circuit breaker uses the EGDIN DIN rail adapter when mounting the breaker on a DIN rail. For internal accessories, the EGE2090FFG, as with other Series G EG Frame circuit breakers, accommodates an alarm lockout and an auxiliary switch which are all connected to the right pole. Note that an auxiliary switch is used for signaling and control purposes while the alarm lockout switch functions only when the EGE2090FFG trips due to a short circuit, an undervoltage release, or an overcurrent. Since the molded case circuit breakers can operate for long periods without maintenance, routine supervision should be adopted to check the health status of the EGE2090FFG.
