The EGB3100AFG is a complete circuit breaker with an E Frame type of frame from Eaton. The breaker has a standard performance of 18 kAIC at both 480 and 415 Volts AC. The EGB3100AFG belongs to the Series G family of circuit breakers from Westinghouse. The EGB3100AFG, as with other Series G circuit breakers, is HACR rated and it can be used in a wide selection of applications globally. Additionally, breakers in this series are smaller in size than other breakers and they occupy considerably less space in mounting environments. The Cutler-Hammer EGB3100AFG, due to its global acceptance, is marked with the UL, CSA, CE, IEC, and the KEMA KEUR listings. The EGB3100AFG has a built-in ground fault protection feature.
The EGB3100AFG, as with other circuit breakers from Eaton, is operated by a toggle-type mechanism that is mechanically trip-free. For improved safety, the circuit breaker has a fast contact action on its trip mechanism that detects overloads and short circuits in a timely manner. For the trip mechanism, the EGB3100AFG employs an adjustable thermal and a fixed magnetic trip mechanism. The Westinghouse EGB3100AFG contains line and load side lug terminals and an interchangeable trip unit. With 3 poles, the circuit breaker is suitable for use in 3-phase powered circuits and which have a current rating of 100 Amps. The EGB3100AFG uses a molded case to protect its internal components against harsh environmental conditions like moisture. When installed in environments prone to moisture and fungus build up, the internal components should also be treated to withstand the moisture and fungus.
