The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EGB2015FFB is an EG Type of molded case circuit breaker from the Eaton G Series. It comes with a current rating of 15 Amps and it can be used in systems with a 480 Volts AC supply and with a 50 to 60 Hertz frequency rating. The EGB2015FFB is installed usually between the power supply and an electrical circuit to prevent an excessively large amount of current from damaging electrical components, wires, and machinery. This action describes the same function that fuses perform. The difference lies in the fact that users have to replace a fuse every time it senses overcurrent because the current is damaging its internal wire. This is not the case with the molded case circuit breaker, which needs no replacement.
The EGB2015FFB comes as a complete circuit breaker which includes the EG frame type with the load and line terminals, and with a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit. The device is CE marked. It has 2 poles. Its interrupting capacity is 18 kAIC at 480 Volts AC and 25 kAIC at 240 Volts AC. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EGB2015FFB comes with a toggle handle which is used to manipulate the device and as the status indicator too. This toggle handle will snap to the tripped position when an overcurrent is detected with the thermal trip unit part, or when a short circuit is detected with the magnet trip unit part. If the users install add-ons like a shunt trip unit or the undervoltage release mechanism, they will be able to start this protecting mechanism too.
