The HND312T56W from the Eaton Corporation (formerly Cutler-Hammer) is a molded case HND type of circuit breaker. This module is equipped with the Digitrip OPTIM 550 Electronic tripping unit. It is engineered to support 3-phase systems with higher currents than normal. The HND312T56W has a high interrupting capacity and it supports interchangeable rating plugs. The current ratings of the plugs that fit into this molded case circuit breaker range from 600 to 1200 Amps. When it comes to the permissible voltage level, this item can support up to 600 Volts AC in its systems. The interrupting capacity of the device is 65 kAIC at 480 Volts AC.
The module has the letter “W” at the end of the order code, which means that it is delivered without terminals. Terminals and rating plugs are ordered separately for this “N” frame-sized circuit breaker. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HND312T56W is HACR rated. All the parts needed to build a functional protective device from this product should be added to the circuit breaker prior to its installation in the cabinet. To prevent damage to property and injury to the users, the HND312T56W should be installed and tested only when the module is powered off.
