The MT3600T is a 3-Pole Adjustable Thermal-Magnetic Trip Unit manufactured by the Eaton Corporation for use with Series-C Cutler-Hammer molded case circuit breakers. It is rated at 600 Amps and it is appropriate for use with standard, high, or ultra-high interrupting frames. It features three adjustable thermal-magnetic trip units (one for each pole) and a push-to-trip button, all of which are easily accessible with a small screwdriver. The MT3600T thermal-magnetic trip unit uses the same type of frame as 310+ electronic trip units. It is designed to work with other components of molded case circuit breakers to protect the circuitry, conductors, and equipment by sensing heat which could be caused by an overload, overcurrent, or short-circuits. When such faults occur, it trips automatically or the push-to-trip button can be used to trip the circuit breaker manually.
The MT3600T thermal-magnetic trip unit seamlessly integrates with PME monitoring and the metering module that communicates system data and the status of the circuit breaker over a local network and it is also compatible for use along with other circuit breaker accessories that enhance performance. After a trip-out, the thermal element of the MT3600T thermal-magnetic trip unit must be allowed to cool to before the circuit can be reclosed. Using the MT3600T thermal-magnetic trip unit in conditions outside of its ratings could result in reduced performance, damage to equipment, or injury to personnel and it is not suitable for use in an environment that would expose it to rain. To determine if it is this appropriate trip unit for the users’ specific needs, they should compare its ratings with the details on the equipment’s nameplate.
