The MDL3800WK is a high magnetic molded case switch designed and manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The switch has an MDL-frame type under the Series C family of molded case switches from Eaton. The MDL3800WK has a voltage rating of 600 Volts AC and of 250 Volts DC. The switch has 800 frame Amps rating and it is 3-poled. The switch has no line or load terminals. The MDL3800WK has a length, height, and width of 18.6 inches, 8.3 inches, and 11.2 inches, respectively and a weight of 26.2 pounds. The Eaton MDL3800WK is certified by the Underwriters Laboratories under the UL 489 standards. For the interrupt rating, the switch has a rating of 65 kiloamps interrupt capacity at 240 Volts AC and 50 kiloamps interrupt capacity at 480 Volts AC. The MDL3800WK uses a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic mechanism to trigger a trip after system malfunctions like short circuits.
The maximum continuous current rating for the MDL3800WK is 800 Amps. In rare occasions, the switch may trip above 6000 Amps. The MDL3800WK, as with other Eaton Cutler-Hammer molded case switches, provides switching functions in industrial applications which need high current switching capabilities. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer MDL3800WK high magnetic molded case switch is available as a factory sealed unit or it can be ordered in its separate parts. Having an M Frame size, the MDL3800WK is HACR rated. Additionally, the switch is carefully manufactured to meet international standards which include the Australian Standards (AS), British Standards Institution Standards, and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), among others.
