The Eaton Cutler-Hammer MDL3300 Series C Molded Case Circuit Breaker is an M frame factory assembled circuit breaker with an interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit and it is used for the protection of the conductors and connected devices from current overloads and shorted circuits. It comes with standard copper/aluminum load and line end pressure terminals, and also with 3-pole wiring for 3-phase and single-phase wiring. It has a maximum interrupting rating of 50 kAIC, with a continuous current rating of 600 Amps, and it is AC and DC rated with 600 Volts AC and 250 Volts DC maximum operating voltage. The MDL3300 comes already assembled with terminals, an adjustable trip unit, a frame, and an operating mechanism.
Its trip unit comprises thermal and magnetic trip elements which provide both thermal and magnetic trip actions and is field adjustable from 5 to 10 times the nominal breaker rating. The operating mechanism is of the “quick make or break” type, which holds the contact open in the event of an overload or abnormal current condition, and it also indicates if the breaker is on, off, or tripped. The MDL3300, like every Frame M thermal-magnetic circuit breaker, is 80% rated at 40 degrees Celsius but will begin to de-rate above this temperature limit, and for operation at a higher temperature, it must be calibrated for a higher ambient temperature. It is designed for use in an environment with non-condensing, non-corrosive relative humidity, and it can be used at a maximum altitude of 6000 feet above sea level. The MDL3300 has an average weight of 13.6 kilograms (30 pounds), with total mounting dimensions of 209.6 x 406.4 x 103.1 millimeters (8.3 x 16.0 x 4.1 inches), and it is UL-listed and CE-marked.
