The Eaton Cutler-Hammer MDL2600 Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a factory-assembled Series C Frame M circuit breaker with an interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit that is used for overload and short-circuit protection in a variety of low voltage applications. It is designed with line and load side terminals for easy field wiring, and it comes in a 2-pole wiring design for use in single-phase applications. The MDL2600 is built for applications with line voltage rating of 250 Volts DC or 600 Volts AC, and it has a continuous current rating of 600 Amps, with maximum interrupting rating of 50 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. It comprises the standard load and line side terminals (TA700MA1), an adjustable trip unit, and a frame. The load and the line side terminal is made of copper/aluminum pressure conductors with 1 to 500 AWG average wire range, and it is UL-rated to meet the nominal current rating.
The MDL2600’s trip unit consists of both thermal and magnetic trip elements which provide trip actions by using a current-heated bimetal strip which deflects upon prolonged overload, and an electromagnet in series with line currents, which provide instantaneous trip action when the line current exceeds the set values. The MDL2600 also has a trip-free operating mechanism, which prevents the contacts from being held together in the event of high and abnormal current conditions, and this operating mechanism helps to indicate the position of the breaker, whether it is tripped, off, or on. The MDL2600 has an approximant shipping weight of 12 kilograms (26.5 pounds), with an aggregate shipping volume of 209.6 x 406.4 x 103.1 millimeters (8.3 x 16.0 x 4.1 inches), and it is UL, CSA, and CE marked.
