The Eaton/Westinghouse CMDL3800F is a 100% rated molded case circuit breaker frame. The frame is of the MDL type and it supports electronic trip units with the long-time and instantaneous tripping functions. The CMDL3800F houses circuit breakers with 3 poles and which have a maximum current rating of 800 Amps. Additionally, the frame is specifically designed to comfortably accommodate a voltage that does not exceed 250 Volts DC or 600 Volts AC. The AC power should not have a frequency below 50 Hertz or above 60 Hertz. The Eaton CMDL3800F molded case frame has a length of 1 inch, a height of 1 inch, a width of 1 inch, and a weight of 1 pound.
With its 3 poles, the frame can be used to house circuit breakers that provide protection to 3-phase powered circuits. The CMDL3800F frame has a standard interrupt rating of 65, 50, and 25 kiloamps interrupt capacity at 240, 480, and 600 Volts AC, respectively. The frame has no interrupt rating for the 250 Volts DC both under the IEC 947-2 and UL 489 standards. The CMDL3800F is made from a glass-polyester material which prohibits the growth of fungus. The Eaton CMDL3800F, by having an M Frame size, can be used in marine applications since it meets the U.S Coast Guard CFR 46 ABS standards. Circuit breakers housed in the CMDL3800F are suitable to be used to guard circuits against overloads. The maximum rated operating temperature for the CMDL3800F stands at 40 degrees Celsius in an industrial environment. Note that the frame can be ordered separately when assembling a circuit breaker in the field.
