The LES3600LSIG is a Type LES Digitrip RMS 310 Electronic Trip Unit manufactured by the Eaton Corporation. It is rated 600 Amps and suitable for 50 to 60 Hertz AC applications with 3-Pole Series-C, L-Frame Cutler-Hammer Molded Case Circuit Breakers, all of which are ideal for reverse feed use. The LES3600LSIG offers microprocessor-based true RMS current sensing, thereby significantly increasing the performance, decreasing nuisance trips due to high harmonic currents, and improving the overall circuit/system protection as well as the appropriate correlation with the thermal characteristics of conductors and equipment. The LES3600LSIG Digitrip 310 Electronic Trip Unit operates without the need for external power sources for its protection systems. Instead, it relies on current signal levels and the control power it derives via the current sensors that are mounted in the trip unit.
It has a 6LES300T fixed rating plug and it features independently adjustable short delay pickup, short delay time (flat response), and ground fault protection as follows: 200 to 800% x (In) short delay pickup, 100 milliseconds short delay time, and 1 to 5 x 1g (120 Amps) ground fault pickup, and Inst-500 milliseconds ground fault flat, all of which provide a flexible current curve shaping. Like all Digitrip RMS trip units, the thermal memory of the LES3600LSIG Digitrip 310 Electronic Trip Unit coordinates with its long delay time to prevent the quickly succeeding overcurrent events that could result in cumulative overheating. Its short delay and ground fault pickup and delay time can be modified by replacing the rating plugs and an STK2 solid-state electronic portable test kit can be used to verify its performance while it is operational with different loads.
