The HLD3400T107W is an electronic circuit breaker equipped with the Digitrip OPTIM 1050 and manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. It is used with interchangeable rating plugs which provide it the flexibility it needs to be installed in systems with 200 to 400 Amps of current rating. The module has the LSIA trip unit, and it is easy to adjust with a screwdriver. There is also a red push-to-trip button for the manual testing of the module’s functionality. This MCCB is delivered without terminals (load or input side). The users will need to acquire them separately and install them in the field. These wire connecting terminals are secured with 2 screws and lock washers. Users should check them for the correct torque ratings and retighten them if necessary (from the front side of the device). A loose terminal on the device can result in overheating due to incomplete contact. It can also cause nuisance trips. This is why users must ensure that all 3 input and load terminals are fastened appropriately to the HLD3400T107W.
The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HLD3400T107W has an interrupting breaking capacity of 100 kAIC at 240 Volts AC or one of 65 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. Always compare the electronic breaker’s ratings that are written on its nameplate with the rating of the equipment that it is intended to be used with. Note that the HLD3400T107W circuit breaker may derate or malfunction if it is used at temperatures higher than 80 degrees Celsius (176 degrees Fahrenheit). This HLD type of circuit breaker has an L-frame, and it is UL listed and HACR rated. An operating frequency range of 50 to 60 Hertz can be applied.
