The Eaton Cutler-Hammer KT2200T is a trip unit for molded case circuit breakers. This trip unit is designed and engineered exclusively for Series C Eaton molded case circuit breakers with a K Frame. The main task of this trip unit is to deliver safety from overloads and short-circuits to conductors and equipment like the motors, the frequency converters, and the motor starters installed on the load side. The KT2200T can be installed in 200 Amps rated circuit breakers to arm them with thermal and magnetic circuit protection. The thermal-magnetic trip unit represents a proven and reliable solution for overload and overcurrent protection. This kind of trip unit is cost-effective and it has a good selling position in the market.
On the front side of the KT2200T module, the users can adjust the magnetic trip by using a screwdriver. They can also position the rotating switch on the front side to a value that is appropriate for their systems. To check the tripping function of this unit periodically, users will need to press a push-to-trip button. It is also a good practice to check the operating mechanism of the breaker together with the trip unit. The Eaton KT2200T makes a tripping action to the molded case circuit breaker which mechanically breaks the connection between the input and the output terminals. This K Frame trip unit is available as a single component but it can also be installed in the factory to be a part of an assembled complete circuit breaker system. The KT2200T can be installed in both standard or higher interrupting circuit breaker frames. All circuit breakers containing this module are HACR-rated.
