The Eaton Cutler-Hammer KDC3225 Molded Case Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breaker is a pre-assembled circuit breaker in the Series C, Frame K, a family of circuit breakers with adjustable trip units, used for line circuit protection in a variety of low voltage distribution systems. It has 3-pole designed which can be wired for both 3-phase and 1-phase systems, and unlike some thermal-magnetic breakers in the K Frame series, it comes with a trip unit, which can be adjusted to suit user’s needs. The KDC3225 has a nominal current rating of 225 Amps, with an ultra-high interrupting capacity of 100 KAIC at 480 Volt AC, and it is designed for 600 Volt AC distribution systems. It comes with both line and side terminals as standard and each terminal is attached to each pole.
The terminals are made of Copper/Aluminium conductors with 35 by 185 millimeters square wire metric range, and they are designed to meet the specified breaker continuous rating. The KDC3225 is comprised of standard terminals, a frame, and an adjustable thermal-magnetic trip unit, all assembled into a single, compact package. The trip unit provides magnetic and thermal trip action, and the magnetic trip element can be adjusted by users match a trip value up to 10 times the continuous current rating. The KDC3225 has a designated operating ambient value of 40 degree Celsius, and in the event of high operating ambient temperature, it can be calibrated on a field to a higher temperature range. The KDC3225 is built to meet BS, AS, IEC, and UL standards, and it has a total shipping volume of 5.5 x 10.1 x 4.1 inches, with an approximate weight of 11.5 pounds.
