The Eaton Cutler-Hammer KDB3250W Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a Frame K thermal-magnetic circuit breaker with a non-interchangeable trip unit designed to protect connected devices and conductors from overloads. This breaker does not come with line or load terminals, and must, therefore, be ordered separately, and it offers easy field wiring through its 3-pole design which is suited for either single or 3-phase applications, depending on the application needs. The KDB3250W has a nominal current rating of 250 Amps, and it is capable of providing a 35 kAIC interrupting rating at 480 Volts AC input, and it is designed for 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC ground systems. It is designed to provide overload protection to connected low-voltage devices, motor starters, and motors, and it is also rated for use with HACR rated applications (like heating, air conditioning, or refrigeration).
The KDB3250W consists of a non-adjustable trip unit, which is made of both thermal and magnetic trip elements, and these elements provide fast-acting trip action in the presence of very high currents and current overload. It also consists of an operating mechanism, which provides a means of closing and opening the breaker’s contact, and it also tells the users the state of the circuit breaker, whether it is tripped, on, or off. The KDB3250W is factory calibrated to function properly at a temperature limit of 40 degree Celsius, and any temperature above this value will de-rate the carrying current and it may cause the device to undergo nuisance trips and therefore need recalibration. The KDB3250W is UL, BS, IEC, and AS certified, and it weighs approximately 5.2 kilograms, with an approximate volume of 149.7 x 257.3 x 104.1 millimeters (width x height x depth).
