The Eaton Cutler-Hammer KDB3225W Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breaker is a complete factory-assembled circuit breaker with a non-interchangeable trip unit, used for circuit protection in a wide range of low-voltage applications. It is designed with a 3-pole wiring configuration, used for 3-phase and single-phase applications, and it has a trip unit designed to be adjusted by experienced personnel. The KDB3225W has a current rating of 225 Amps, suitable for 600 Volts AC grounded and ungrounded system, and it offers an interrupting rating of 35 Kilo Amps Interrupting Capacity (kAIC). The KDB3225W circuit breaker is rated for HACR and reverse feed use, which offers fast and cheap trip protection to the users’ connected devices.
It comprises a non-adjustable trip unit, a frame, and a trip-free operating mechanism. The trip unit consists of a thermal and magnetic trip element which provides magnetic and thermal trip action in the event of short-circuiting. Its operating mechanism is of a “quick make and break” design, which provides a means of easily operating the breaker’s contact, and it also indicates the status of the breaker, showing whether it is on, off, or tripped. The KDB3225W is designed to operate below a temperature of 40 degree Celsius, and the carrying will de-rate below the nominal rating if the temperature is higher, and the breaker needs to be re-calibrated for a higher temperature. It is also designed to function properly within a relative humidity range of 0 to 95%, and it can be used at height of up to 6000 feet above sea level. The KDB3225W has an aggregate shipping dimension of 5.5 x 10.13 x 4.1 inches (width x height x depth), and it has a net weight of 11.5 pounds (including the frame and trip unit).
