The KDB3150 is an Eaton Cutler-Hammer molded case circuit breaker from the Eaton C Series. It is a KDB type of thermal-magnetic circuit breaker that has 3 poles. The KDB3150 is usually used to protect devices and electric circuits in panelboards and switchboards. The module is mountable either horizontally or vertically. The current rating of this MCCB is 150 Amps. It is built with 4 integral parts: a KDB framed molded case, a trip unit, contacts, and an operating mechanism. All of these components work together to make this circuit breaker usable with loads requiring 3-phase voltage and high breaking capacity. The KDB3150 delivers high-performance circuit overload protection for almost any kind of industrial and field equipment.
The Cutler-Hammer KDB3150 has ratings of 600 Volts AC and an interrupting capacity of 25 kAIC at that voltage level. This module is a member of the Series C group of the Eaton circuit breakers and there is often a need to transfer a power supply through this device, which acts as the main overcurrent protective device for a mechanical system, to multiple branch circuits. In this way, there is a need for multiple conductors from its terminals, and this procedure is allowed and tested for KDB type circuit breakers. On the front of the circuit breaker, there is a handle that clearly indicates the trip, on, or off position of the device. If the handle goes to the trip position, the circuit breaker will not automatically close the circuit. The operator must switch on the device manually after the trip situation. Its rugged plastic housing protects the internal mechanism from moisture and dirt.
