The Cutler-Hammer KDB3125 is a Type KDB circuit breaker with a non-interchangeable trip unit. This circuit breaker, manufactured by the Eaton Corporation, is a general-purpose device that is suitable for circuit overcurrent protection in domestic and commercial applications. The module is widely used in industrial automation projects for medium-current application protection. The KDB3125 is applicable to DC and AC systems. It has 3 poles, and it can withstand DC voltages of 250 Volts DC and AC voltages of 600 Volts AC. The Cutler-Hammer KDB3125 is designed to be a bolt-on panelboard. As its name suggests, the this MCCB can conduct 125 Amps of current and it will need larger-sized wiring than other circuit breakers. This is why users must plan to leave enough of space around this 5.5 inches x 10.13 inches x 4.1 inches device for proper ventilation.
Even when the KDB3125 circuit breaker has automatically tripped, this device can be reused multiple times after a manual reset is performed over the handle that is available on the front middle part of the unit. Before installing the KDB3125 in an electrical circuit, users should check that its 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC and its 35 kAIC at 480 Volts AC interrupting capacities fulfill their application needs. The KDB3125 will keep all the devices connected to its load side isolated from surge currents and short-cuts. This will ensure a prolonged product life to the electrical equipment and wiring. Its main components are the upper and lower terminals, trip handle, and the operating mechanisms. It is a lightweight device for its breaking category. It weighs around 5.2 kilograms (11.5 pounds). The KDB3125 molded case circuit breaker has UL, CSA, and IEC certifications.
