The KDB2400 is a K frame circuit breaker from the C Series of breakers which are manufactured by Eaton. It is developed for use in industrial motor control applications, feeder pillars, and switch gears along with other applications which require the users to protect the equipment from overcurrent and overload conditions. The KDB2400 circuit breaker will disconnect the supply voltage to the equipment by tripping the unit to the trip position. This is caused due to a high current flow above the rated current which activates the internal trip mechanism. The KDB2400 has 2 poles and the maximum rated current of the device is 400 Amps. When the current through the device exceeds this limit, it causes the switch to trip.
These circuit breakers have various certifications like the UL, NEMA, BS,4752, CSA, IEC 60947-2, and many more and users can request a copy of these test reports from the manufacturer. The installation must be done by a person who is familiar with electrical installations like this one and who can follow all the safety guidelines according to the local regulations to ensure that there is no damage during the installation. The power to the device must be turned off and the trip switch must be in the off position when the users are connecting the wires and installing the circuit breaker on the panel. The users must refer to the installation instructions and make sure that the minimum clearances are maintained to allow for free operation and access to the KDB2400 if the device trips or need to be replaced in the future.
