The KD3175 is a thermal magnetic circuit breaker from Eaton/Westinghouse/Cutler-Hammer. The circuit breaker has 3 poles and it is molded to protect 3-phase power circuits. The KD3175 has a maximum continuous current of 175 Amps and it features an interchangeable trip unit. With a K-frame type, the KD3175 is by default shipped in individual parts that the users can assemble. If the circuit breaker needs to be factory-assembled, this has to be explicitly stated when ordering. Note that a factory assembled KD3175 does not provide room for user replacement of individual components, including the tripping unit. The Eaton KD3175 molded case circuit breaker has a rated maximum voltage of 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC depending whether the circuit breaker is used in AC or DC-powered systems. The KD3175 has standard terminals on both the line and load sides.
The interrupt rating for the Eaton/Westinghouse/Cutler-Hammer KD3175 circuit breaker, under the IEC 157-1 standards, is 40 kAIC at both 380 and 415 Volts AC. Additionally, the KD3175 has 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC. Note that under these standards, the KD3175 has no interrupt capacity ratings for voltages between 440 and 600 Volts AC. The Eaton/Westinghouse/Cutler-Hammer KD3175 provides for an optional alarm switch, an optional undervoltage release, and an optional shunt trip for safety. The circuit breaker is approved by the Underwriters Laboratories, the Canadian Standards Association, and the Japanese T-Mark Standards for molded case circuit breakers. The operating frequency for the KD3175 stands at 50 to 60 Hertz.
