The Cutler-Hammer KD2400F C Series molded case circuit breaker is highly popular and it is made by the Eaton Corporation. Molded case circuit breakers are normally used when there is a chance that the site conditions where the breaker in use will interfere with the normal operation of the thermal overload of the circuit breaker and the machine it is attached to. The KD2400F has protective features for commonplace electrical problems like low temperatures which might prevent thermal protection from tripping, the tripping of the thermal protection unit without an overload due to a high temperature, and also protection from environmental moisture which may affect the operation of thermal protection mechanism by absorbing too much heat.
There are multiple interruption rating for the KD2400F breaker which are 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC, 25 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, 18 kAIC at 600 Volts AC, 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC (UL), 65 kAIC at 220 or 240 Volts AC, 35 kAIC at 380, 415, or 440 Volts AC, 18 kAIC at 500 Volts AC, 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC (IEC). The circuit breaker has a current rating of 60 Amps at a maximum operating temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. The voltage rating for the KD2400F is 600 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz frequency. The terminal type of the circuit breaker is a standard pressure load terminal. The maximum AC voltage rating of the KD2400F is 600 Volts AC. It also has a maximum DC voltage rating of 250 Volts DC.
