The Westinghouse/Cutler-Hammer KD2175 is a molded case circuit breaker from Eaton. The circuit breaker is carefully designed and manufactured to protect all industrial circuits that that do not exceed an operating current of 175 Amps. Additionally, the KD2175 can only be used with 2-phase power supplies since it has 2 poles. With a weight of 11.5 pounds, a width of 5.5 inches, a height of 5.5 inches, and a length of 4.1 inches, the KD2175 can comfortably be mounted on a panel without taking up a considerable amount of space. The Westinghouse KD2175 is certified by the Underwriters Laboratories, and it is certified by other major global and region-specific certifications. The circuit breaker utilizes the Type K frame size and it is a Type KD Cutler-Hammer circuit breaker.
The KD2175 contains terminals on the line and load sides and the terminals are made of aluminum. The tripping mechanism incorporated in the KD2175 is a fixed thermal fixed magnetic tripping mechanism. The circuit breaker can handle a maximum voltage of 600 Volts AC when it is used to protect a circuit powered by alternating current, and it can handle a maximum voltage of 250 Volts DC when used to protect a circuit powered by direct current. The KD2175 operates within a frequency range of 50 to 60 Hertz. The Cutler-Hammer KD2175 has an interrupt rating of 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC, 35 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, and of 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC under the NEMA/UL 489/CSA standards. The IEC 157-1 standards also record the same interrupt ratings.
