The KD2100 Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a complete factory-assembled breaker in the Eaton Cutler-Hammer C Series K Frame family of circuit breakers, and it is used for main and branch circuit protection in a variety of low-voltage applications. This breaker, like other K Frame devices, is HACR-rated and it is suitable for reverse feed use, and it comes with 2-pole wiring and 2 line and load side terminals. The KD2100 is rated 600 Volts AC, with a maximum interrupting rating of 35 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, and it has a nominal current rating of 100 Amps. The breaker assembly comprises a thermal/magnetic trip unit that is designed to be user adjustable, it has 2 line and load side terminals with terminal covers, an operating mechanism which provides a blow-open action that is high speed, and an insulated enclosure which protects the integrity of the internal components.
The KD2100 has 2 lines and load end copper/aluminum pressure terminals that are UL rated to meet the standard breaker rating, and also with 2 terminal covers for protection against wearing out. It has an adjustable trip unit consisting of magnetic/thermal trip elements which provide fast-acting thermal and instantaneous trip actions via load-deflected bimetal and instantaneous electromagnets arranged in series with a line current. During an overload, this breaker is designed to provide an open contact by using a mechanically trip free operating mechanism, and it shows users the current position of the breaker whether it is on, off, or tripped. The KD2100 is calibrated for 40 degrees Celsius of maximum ambient operating temperature, and it can be used within a 0 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity range. The KD2100 is UL and CE rated, and it has a total shipping volume of 5.50 x 10.13 x 4.10 inches and an average weight of 10.0 pounds (terminals inclusive).
