The Eaton JT3225T is a Series C circuit breaker trip unit. It is designed to be used with Series C J-Frame circuit breakers. The three-pole JT3225T has a current rating of 225 Amps. It can be used with standard, high, and ultra-high interrupting frames. The JT3225T is UL certified. The JT3225T uses a non-interchangeable trip unit of the variable thermal-magnetic type. The variable thermal element is provided for an inverse time delay on the overload. A button is provided on the trip unit for the thermal element configuration. This button can be rotated to achieve the desired setting. The variable magnetic element is provided for protection from short circuits. The magnetic element can also be configured through the buttons provided on the front of the trip unit. The buttons can be rotated with a screwdriver to attain the desired setting.
As per the UL standards, the circuit breaker is tripped by the thermal element within 2 hours in the event of a 135% overload. Tripping by the thermal element takes less than 2 hours for overloads in excess of 135%. The circuit breaker is instantaneously tripped by the magnetic element when the current exceeds the magnetic setting. The JT3225T is calibrated at 40 degrees Celsius and it is factory sealed for protection against tampering. The JT3225T should only be installed when the equipment is disconnected from the electrical power. Failure to do so can lead to severe injury and even death. The JT3225T comes in a J-frame with dimensions of 4.13 x 10 x 4.06 inches.
