The JT2125T is a 2-pole Series C J Frame Type JT thermal-magnetic trip unit manufactured by Eaton. It is rated at 125 Amps of continuous current and it has a 625 to 1250 trip Amps range. This trip unit performs at optimum capacity without derating with loads that are rated at up to a maximum of 80% of its rating and it is suitable for use with 2-pole type JDC, JD, and HJD Series C, J Frame circuit breakers in DC and AC voltages, 50 to 60 Hertz applications. When installed on a circuit breaker, the JT2125T thermal-magnetic trip unit senses fault currents from overload, short-circuit, or high current and it trips instantaneously without intentional delay.
The thermal-magnetic element of this trip unit is adjustable and it can be adjusted to match current surges like the ones resulting from motor starts, thereby reducing nuisance trips. Each pole of the JT2125T thermal-magnetic trip unit features a thermal-magnetic element that is set to the high position by default and the latch bracket on the trip unit helps align it to the breaker properly during installation. A push-to-trip button on the front face of the JT2125T thermal-magnetic trip unit enables the users to manually trip the breaker during a trip test. It is compatible with other J Frame circuit breaker accessories and its rugged casing is built to meet the demands of different industrial equipment. Note that leaving any conductor of the JT2125T thermal-magnetic trip unit loose during operation may cause overheating and result in arcing or nuisance tripping.
