The Eaton JT2100T is a trip unit. It is a molded trip unit and it is developed by the Eaton Corporation. The JT2100T has a thermal magnetic trip unit and it has 2 poles. The maximum current trip rating of the JT2100T is 100 Amps. The trip unit should be operated in an ambient temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. The trip unit creates a high-speed open action using the magnetic fields which are created due to the high input currents. The trip units have a toggle type of mechanism which prevents short circuits due to closed contacts. This increases the safety of the device. When users are connecting the trip unit, they need to make sure that the power is turned off and the trip switch is in the off position to prevent accidental current flow from the mains to the system. Before turning on the device, the users should also make sure that the wires are secured in the terminals and that there are no exposed wires.
The wires to be used for connections should meet the specifications in the manual published by the manufacturer. These trip units have various certifications based on different country’s specific requirements, and the users may request a certificate of these certifications from the manufacturer. When the users receive the device, they should make sure the packaging of the device is intact and that there are no visible damages, and if they notice any damage, they must inform the shipping company immediately. The JT2100T should be used with standard, high, or ultra-high interrupting frames. The size of the JT2100T is 4.13 inches in width, 10 inches in height, and 4.06 inches in length.
