The JDC-type JDC3150 from Eaton is a 250 Volts DC, 600 Volts AC, and 150 Amps rated Series C circuit breaker with the following interrupt ratings: 200 kAIC at 240 Volts AC, 100 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, 35 kAIC at 600 Volts AC, and 22 kAIC at 250 Volts DC. The weight of the JDC3150 is 6.46 kilograms and it has the following dimensions: a height of 254 millimeters, a width of 104.9 millimeters, and a length of 103.1 millimeters. To avoid the risk of death or injury, the manufacturer recommends that installation, maintenance, and inspection of the JDC3150 should be done with the breaker and all other associated equipment powered off. The working area should also be cleared of all voltage. Users should verify that any cleaning agent used during the inspection will not cause any damage to the JDC3150. The manufacturer also recommends adherence to all the generally accepted safety processes and procedures to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel.
The JDC3150 circuit breaker comes with aluminum line and load terminals. The manufacturer recommends the use of copper or aluminum conductors with 25 to 185 MCM American Wire Gauge. The manufacturer also recommends the utilization of joint compounds to aid in the avoiding any potential overheating of the terminals with aluminum conductors. The 3-pole molded case JDC3150 circuit breaker is provided with an interchangeable trip unit. The trip unit is of the thermal magnetic type. When a trip occurs due to a thermal event, the breaker can be reset only after the thermal element has cooled down.
