The Eaton Cutler-Hammer JDB3175 Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a general-purpose circuit breaker in the Frame J family of thermal-magnetic circuit breakers, which provides short-circuit and overload protection to the conductors and devices connected to it. This device, like all Frame J circuit breakers, is HACR rated, and it comes in a factory-assembled unit, that is suitable for reverse feed use. The JDB3175 is designed for applications with 600 Volts AC/250 Volts DC line input voltage, and it has a continuous current rating of 175 Amps at 40 degrees Celsius as the maximum ambient temperature. This device, like all Eaton Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers, is temperature-sensitive, and it has been tested and rated to operate at an 80% de-rate value at 40 degrees Celsius.
It has a maximum interrupting capacity of 35 kAIC suitable for providing effective overload protection to load conductors and connected electrical devices. The JDB3175 is a factory-assembled circuit breaker consisting of a molded case frame, a non-adjustable trip unit which provides trip action, and a line and load terminal for field wiring. This device is designed to provide thermal and magnetic trip action by using a bimetal trip element heated through a current load and an electromagnet in series with the line and load terminals for a fast-acting trip. The JDB3175 is designed with both line and load end terminals that are designed to meet the users’ wiring needs, and these terminals are made of copper/aluminum conductors with average wire size of 25 to 185 millimeters squared. It has an operating temperature limit of 40 degrees Celsius, above which the carrying load begins to de-rate. The JDB3175 has an average weight of 5.7 kilograms (12.50 pounds), with total shipping dimensions of 105 x 254 x 104.1 millimeters (4.13 x 10.0 x 4.06 inches), and it is UL, ATEX, AS, BS, and IEC certified.
