The Cutler-Hammer JDB2200 is a molded case circuit breaker. The breaker is designed to purposely provide protection to industrial circuits that are operated with a voltage of not more than 600 Volts AC. The JDB2200 uses a molded case to shield the internal components from moisture. The circuit breaker is part of Series C of the circuit breakers manufactured by Eaton Corporation. For troubleshooting and monitoring, the JDB2200 uses a tripping mechanism that has a tripping handle on the front panel. The handle shows if the circuit breaker is actively providing protection (ON position), if there is a short-circuit or if the system has malfunctioned (TRIPPED position), and it shows if the JDB2200 does not provide protection at all and has cut off sections of the circuit from getting power, and this is indicated by the handle being on the OFF position.
After tripping, the JDB2200 circuit breaker trip handle must be pushed past the OFF position to initiate a reset and to take the circuit back into active system protection. Being an Eaton Series C circuit breaker, the JDB2200 features high-speed blow open action. The maximum rated voltage for the JDB2200 stands at 600 Volts AC and 250 Volts DC. Additionally, the circuit breaker has an interchangeable trip unit which is a fixed thermal-magnetic trip type. The Cutler-Hammer JDB2200 is 2-poled and it is usable in 2-phase powered circuits. For the interrupting rating, the JDB2200 has 10 Kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at a voltage of 250 Volts DC, 18 Kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at 600 Volts AC, and 65 Kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at a voltage of 240 Volts AC. The JDB2200 is UL-approved.
