The Eaton JD4250KW is a molded case switch without terminals from the Eaton C Series of molded case switches. This switch is a high-magnetic molded case switch that is delivered without terminals. This is a 4-pole device with the current capacity of 250 Amps. The JD4250KW is HACR-rated and it complies with the UL 489 standards. It is used as a compact switch in applications that require high current switching capabilities and even in motor control applications. This switch is engineered to provide fast and reliable circuit breaking non-automatically. One good way to use this device is to use it to cut the current flow for servicing the equipment behind the switch.
The Eaton JD4250KW is suitable for reverse feed use. In this way, users can connect up to 250 Volts DC or 600 Volts AC power sources at either end of the device. This J-framed device has an interrupting capacity of 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC and this is reduced to 35 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. This device is made of the same materials and components as the Eaton circuit breakers, but it does not provide overcurrent protection. Because it is supplied without terminals, users will have to order the terminals separately. This component has a plastic housing that is a good isolator from the internal electro-mechanical mechanisms. The housing has dimensions of 5.50 inches x (139.7 millimeters) x 10.00 inches (254.0 millimeters) x 4.06 inches (104.1 millimeters). When it comes to the possible installation positions of this switch, users can install it horizontally or vertically, but if the users install it vertically, the on position must be oriented upwards (to satisfy the safety standards).
