The Eaton JD3250KW is a JD Type 3-pole molded case switch without terminals. This product is manufactured by the Eaton Corporation (formerly Cutler-Hammer). The JD3250KW switch has no thermal or magnetic overload protection. Its UL 489 interrupting capacity ratings are 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC and 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC. The device can be used at voltages of up to 600 Volts AC. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer JD3250KW is a C Series device that may be used on service equipment, switchboards, industrial control equipment, panelboards, motor control centers, and for motor branch protection. The JD3250KW is suitable for disconnecting a motor from the circuit, and it can be used for a motor on/off function (as a motor controller).
The Eaton JD3250KW molded case switch is current-rated and it can be used at up to 100% of its 250 Amps current rating. Note that this device needs to be protected by a breaker or a fuse with an equal current rating. The module is packed without the line and load terminals. The JD3250KW, like all other circuit breakers with a J-frame, is HACR rated. The module has been popular with users for more than 20 years. The device measures 4.13 inches (105 millimeters) x 10.00 inches (254 millimeters) x 4.06 inches (104 millimeters). Users should perform periodical cleaning of the device if the visual inspection shows obvious damage or if the switch is dirty. This is because dirt can cause a corrosion over time.
