The JD-type Eaton JD3225 is a complete J-frame Series C circuit breaker. J-frame breakers are HACR rated. They are intended for motor control centers, switchboards, and panelboard applications. JD-type circuit breakers are certified by Underwriters Labs. The available circuit breaker continuous current ratings range from a minimum of 70 Amps to a maximum of 250 Amps. The three-pole JD3225 circuit breaker is based on a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic tripping module. After thermal tripping, the JD3225 can be reset only after the tripping module has been allowed to cool down. After automatic tripping, the breaker needs to be reset by shifting the circuit breaker handle to the off position.
A current of 225 Amps is the continuous electrical current rating of the JD3225. The voltage ratings are 600 Volts AC and 250 Volts DC. At 600 Volts AC, the JD3225 is rated at 18 kilo-Amps interrupting capacity, at 480 Volts AC, it is rated at 35 kilo-Amps interrupting capacity, and at 240 Volts AC, it is rated at 65 kilo-Amps interrupting capacity. At 250 Volts DC, the JD3225 is rated at 22 kilo-Amps interrupting capacity. To safeguard the safety of the equipment and personnel, the JD3225 should only be installed when it has been switched off, the working area is clear of voltage, and all the electrical equipment has been de-energized. Testing and maintenance work should also be carried out while following these precautions. Moreover, general safety precautions and local regulations and standards should also be followed. The J-frame JD3225 weighs approximately 3.62 kilograms. Its dimensions are as follows: 304.8 millimeters in height, 105.9 millimeters in width, and 109.4 millimeters in depth.
