The Cutler-Hammer HJD4250F is circuit breaker frame with an Amperage rating of 250 Amps. The frame is used with J-frame series C molded case circuit breakers. The HJD4250F does not feature a trip unit. However, the circuit breaker frame has standard terminals. When used in a DC powered circuit, the frame has an interrupt rating of 22 Kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at 250 Volts DC. At a frequency of between 50 and 60 Hertz and at an AC voltage, the HJD4250F has a high interrupting rating of 25 Kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at 600 Volts AC, 100 Kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at 240 Volts AC, and 65 Kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at 480 Volts as specified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL 489). Under IEC 157-1 interrupt capacity ratings, the HJD4250F has no ratings at 600 Volts AC but has 65 Kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at both 380 and 415 Volts AC.
The Eaton HJD4250F has a width of 5.50 inches, a height of 10.0 inches, and a depth of 4.06 inches. On the front panel, the circuit breaker frame has a section for the tripping unit handle and some knobs to adjust the sensitivity of the tripping mechanism. The HJD4250F accommodates bolt-on connections and is panel mountable. The HJD4250F circuit breaker frame, by being a molded case, meets National Electrical Manufacturers (NEMA), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), among other major standards. The HJD4250F can be ordered with freeze test which is done at a temperature of -40 degrees Celsius.
