The HJD3125 from Eaton is a J-frame, HJD type of circuit breaker with a 125 Amps current rating. The circuit breaker has 3 poles. It is a complete breaker that has a thermal magnetic (non-interchangeable) trip module as an integral part. Aluminum line and load terminals are also provided with the circuit breaker. Copper or aluminum conductors with a 4 to 350 MCM wire gauge are recommended for use with the circuit breaker’s terminals. It is also recommended to use a joint compound with aluminum wires to avoid any overheating in the terminals. Overheated terminals can cause random tripping and damage to the circuit breaker. The following ratings are the voltage direct current and alternating current ratings for the HJD3125: and these ratings are 250 Volts DC and 600 Volts AC, respectively. The 125 Amp rated HJD3125 has the following interrupt ratings: 100 kAIC at 240 Volts AC, 65 kAIC at 480 volts AC, 25 kAIC at 600 Volts AC, and 22 kAIC at 250 Volts DC.
The J-frame HJD3125 circuit breaker has a weight of 12.5 pounds. Its dimensions are 10 inches in height, 4.13 inches in width, and 4.06 inches in depth. Periodic maintenance and inspection of the HJD3125 are recommended to ensure trouble-free operation. The maintenance and inspection should always be carried out while the breaker is switched off. Cleaning agents which do not damage the breaker should be used to clean it. Any grease, dirt, and moisture should be removed quickly from the circuit breaker. Terminals and connectors should be checked for looseness or for evidence of overheating. Any required field testing should be carried out according to the applicable NEMA standard.
