The GHC3040 molded case circuit breaker from Eaton Cutler-Hammer is one of the circuit protection products that comes from the successful Eaton Series C product line. The circuit breakers from this series are intended for the domestic market and they include fewer options than other circuit breakers. These circuit breakers are designed for electrical and machinery OEMs that are accustomed to a variety of industries and different applications. The circuit breakers from Eaton are known to be highly reliable and efficient and they are built with the use of the latest technologies from this field. The Series C circuit breakers are made in 8 different frames and within a range of 15 to 2500 Amps from which the users can choose, depending on the requirements of the application.
The GHC3040 circuit breaker comes with a G frame and a complete breaker frame type. The Eaton G Frame circuit breakers from Series C are built within the 15 to 100 Amps current range, they come with 2 or 3 poles, and they have a common trip type. Besides that, the G Frame circuit breakers also offer single-pole variants (15 to 20 Amps) that can be used for fluorescent lighting applications. It should be noted that all circuit breakers with a G Frame are HACR rated and suitable for reverse feed use. This particular GHC circuit breaker has a maximum continuous amperage rating (at 40 degrees Celsius) of 40 Amps and an interruption rating of 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC and of 14 kAIC at 480Y/277 Volts AC. In addition to that, the GHC3040 circuit breaker has a voltage rating of 480Y/277 Volts AC or 125/250 Volts DC. This 3-pole model also includes a 50 to 60 Hertz frequency rating and a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip type. The dimensions of this UL listed component are 121.9 millimeters (4.8 inches) x 71.1 millimeters (2.8 inches) x 76.1 millimeters (3 inches). The GHC3040 circuit breakers’ weight is around 0.7 kilograms or 1.7 pounds.
