The Cutler-Hammer GHB3030 is a Type GHB Circuit Breaker with a non-interchangeable trip unit. This thermal-magnetic circuit breaker has 3 poles and a continuous current rating of 30 Amps at 40 degrees Celsius. The GHB3030 is widely used in industrial surroundings for medium current devices protection. It can detect the overloading (thermal and current) of devices supplied with 480 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC voltage. Its breaking capacity is 14 kAIC. The Cutler-Hammer GHB3030 is a bolt-on panel board circuit breaker. It has terminals for the load side only. These terminals are UL listed and appropriate for wire sizes of 10 AWG or greater. On the input side, this device is connected via an extended tang which is bolted directly to the bus. If the users are connecting aluminum conductors to it, the recommendation is to use a joint compound.
There is a toggle handle on the front side of the circuit breaker that goes into the “tripped” position if the breaker is tripped by a fault condition. This will be the case when there is a detection of overcurrent, short circuit, shunt, or undervoltage releases. Users cannot simply push the handle to the operating condition. Before the contacts of the circuit breaker are reclosed after a trip, the toggle handle should be pulled-down beyond the OFF position (to apply reset). Only after this action can the GHB3030 can be reclosed. The GHB3030 belongs to Eaton’s C Series of circuit breakers with a GHB frame size. The dimensions are 4.00 inches x 3.00 inches x 2.63 inches (101.6 millimeters x 76.2 millimeters x 66.7 millimeters) and the dimensions correspond to this frame size family. The device has UL, CSA, and IEC certifications.
