The GDB3100 is a 3-pole Series C Type GDB Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breaker manufactured by Eaton. It is rated at 100 Amps of maximum continuous current, 480 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC voltage. This breaker features a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit as well as line and load terminals. It is ideal for multi-purpose use in providing main and branch circuit protection and it is typically applied in motor control centers as well as panelboards. The GDB3100 circuit breaker supports surface mounting and enclosed area mounting. It is built from high-quality conductor and insulation materials that guarantee high-performance circuit protection and it can remain in operation for several years without maintenance, provided its ratings are not exceeded. A small window on the side of its switch handle of the GDB3100 thermal magnetic breaker indicates its on, off, or tripped state as red, green, and white, respectively and the position of its switch handle provides an additional status indication.
Interphase barriers can be used to increase electrical clearance between the 3 poles of the GDB3100 thermal magnetic circuit breaker and the terminal shields can be easily adapted to it to prevent accidental contact. The GDB3100 circuit breaker seamlessly integrates itself into existing and new protection and control systems. It automatically trips when a fault occurs, but it must be manually reset and reclosed before resuming operations. In addition to these features, the GDB3100 breaker also supports various field installable internal and external accessories. Note that all power must be removed from the breaker before installing an internal accessory. Power should only be restored to it after all the components are coupled.
