The GDB3040 is a thermal magnetic circuit breaker manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The Cutler-Hammer GDB3040 circuit breaker is part of Series C of the GDB Type molded case circuit breakers. The Cutler-Hammer GDB3040 circuit breaker feature 40 Amps of current rating, 480 Volts AC, 3 poles, 3 phases, 14 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, and load side lug terminals. The Cutler-Hammer GDB3040 circuit breaker is contained in Frame G enclosure. The Cutler-Hammer GDB3040 circuit breaker has a terminal end cover that is used in the main motor control systems. The line-side conductors are easily customized during installation due to the confined spaces. The cylinder lock holds the trip bar in the tripped position internally when preventing the Cutler-Hammer GDB3040 circuit breaker from switching on unintentionally. The cylinder lock module is pre-installed by the manufacturer at the left pole of the Cutler-Hammer GDB3040 circuit breaker cover.
The Cutler-Hammer GDB3040 circuit breaker is equipped with a walking beam interlock that enhances easy configuration with another GDB type of molded case circuit breaker by interlocking them mechanically. The Cutler-Hammer GDB3040 circuit breaker features an electrical operator which is a single solenoid module. The electrical operator allows for both the remote and local circuit breaker’s on, off, and reset switching capabilities. The electrical operator is installed on the Cutler-Hammer GDB3040 circuit breaker cover. The electrical operator utilizes a unique bi-stable latch which enables the module to function utilizing a single solenoid. The Cutler-Hammer GDB3040 circuit breaker can be configured with a sliding bar interlock that also offers mechanical interlocking between the circuit breaker and another GDB type of molded case circuit breaker. The sliding bar interlock is mounted on the enclosure cover in between the circuit breakers. When the users move the sliding bar interlock handle from one side to another side, a bar extends to alternately halt the movement of the handle and it secures both of the integrated circuit breakers from switching on simultaneously.
