The Cutler-Hammer GDB3030 molded case circuit breaker is manufactured by the Eaton Company. It is part of the Series C line of Eaton circuit breakers with the G frame type, and it is a type GDB circuit breaker. This product runs on 3-phase power, and it has 3 poles, 30 Amps of current, a voltage of 480 Volts AC, and an AIC rating of 14 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. The GDB3030 has a non-interchangeable trip unit, and it has load side lug terminals, and long-time and instantaneous trip features. The GDB3030 molded case circuit breaker is particularly designed to aid in circuit protection for systems with low voltage circulation. It is known as a device for interrupting and terminating the circuit between distinct contacts in both standard and abnormal conditions. Additionally, it can be assembled as an essential unit that is housed by insulating material.
NEC defines the GDB3030 as a device that opens and closes circuits non-automatically in general, and it opens circuits automatically on a preset current overload without injury to itself if it is correctly applied according to its ratings. The Cutler-Hammer GDB3030 and the entire Series C line of circuit breakers are specifically designed to provide protection for conductors against any likely overloads, and the connected apparatus like motors and motor starters against any possible short circuits. The Series C Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers also come with a special calibration feature. This is a special non-UL-listed calibration feature that is available for ambient temperatures of up to 40 degree Celsius and for frequencies of 50 to 60 Hertz and for DC-powered devices. Lower interrupt ratings apply for applications with frequencies of 400 Hertz. Generally, these circuit breakers come with freeze testing. There is a special lubrication as well as special mechanical operation for options verified at temperatures of -40 degree Celsius.
