The Eaton Cutler-Hammer GD3045 is a complete molded case circuit breaker. The purpose of this thermal-magnetic type of circuit breaker is to prevent the type of damage that can occur from short-circuits and overloads. A malfunctioning electrical system can destroy installations, conductors, appliances, and electronics. In some occasions, it can even endanger the users’ work environments or homes with the risk of electric shock or fire. These kinds of problems are prevented by the installation of circuit breakers like the Eaton GD3045, which is applicable to 3-phase systems with up to 45 Amps of current rating.
Although it is mainly designed to be used in an industrial surrounding, the GD3045 can be also used in homes to limit electrical power use and to prevent the stressing of residential electrical installations. It will be an appropriate solution for homes that include heavy-consumption electrical devices like big irons, heaters, and powerful ovens. If the circuit breaker frequently trips, then the users should thoroughly inspect their home installations and installed devices. The GD3045 is a Series C molded case circuit breaker with a G Frame. It is able to safeguard electrical appliances from undervoltage too if it is equipped with an additional spare part which must be ordered separately. It is designed with an interrupting capacity of 22 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, which is the maximum voltage that can be applied to the device without damaging it. This thermal-magnetic circuit breaker is delivered with both the line and the load terminals. It is designed to conform to the UL 489 standard. This is why this device is equipped with a non-interchangeable trip unit.
