The Eaton GD3030D is a complete Series C circuit breaker. It is a GD type breaker with a G-frame. The GD3030D is a 3-pole circuit breaker. The current rating for the breaker is 30 Amps. The voltage ratings for the breaker are 125 or 250 Volts DC and 480 Volts AC. The frequency ratings are 50 to 60 Hertz. The interrupt capacity ratings for the breaker are 14 kAIC at 480 Volts AC and 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC. The GD3030D includes a magnetic–thermal trip unit. Load and line terminals are part of the breaker. After the breaker is mounted, the load and line terminals and accessory leads should be connected. The line end terminals barriers of the GD breakers bend when a screwdriver is inserted to tighten the line end terminals. The weight of the GD3030D is 0.95 kilograms. Its enclosure measures 6.37 x 3.62 x 3.62 inches.
The installed GD3030D should be inspected periodically. The breaker must be switched off prior to inspection. The inspection should include checking for dirt, grease, and moisture, which should be removed from the breaker’s surface (an appropriate cleaning solution which does not damage the breaker should be used), and to check the mechanical linkages, the breaker can be switched on and off a few times. The connector and terminals should be inspected for looseness and overheating, and the area where the breaker is installed should be checked for safety hazards. Field testing, if required, should be carried out as per the NEMA standards.
