The Eaton Cutler-Hammer GD3025 is a molded case circuit breaker from the C Series. This is a thermal-magnetic type of MCCB that can support 25 Amps rated applications. This kind of circuit breaker is the most widely used in homes and industry. The GD3025 has 3 poles and it utilizes 2 components to detect electrical faults. It incorporates an electromagnet that brings sensitivity to large surges which can cause short-circuiting. The second component used in the device is a bimetal strip that will trigger the alarm and trip the unit if there are overloads or extended low-level electrical surges. The bimetal strip will be heated by extreme electrical currents, the bimetallic strip will bend, and mechanically turn the circuit off.
The Eaton GD3025 responds instantly to electrical hazards and prevents dangerous situations by shutting off the flow of electricity. The reason why thermal-magnetic circuit breakers, like the Eaton GD3025, are popular and widely used is that they can be used again after limiting short-circuits. Users can manually reset the molded case circuit breaker when the surge has passed. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer GD3025 is delivered in a rugged plastic housing with dimensions of 4.9 inches x 2.6 inches x 3.0 inches (124 millimeters x 67 millimeters x 76 millimeters). This overcurrent and short-circuit protective device can be used in electrical circuits with a maximum voltage of 480 Volts AC. It includes line and load terminals, and its interrupting capacity is 22 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. This kind of outstanding performance is achieved by an optimal contact design inside of the light and compact housing.
