The Eaton GD3015 is a complete Eaton Series C circuit breaker. The GD3015 is a GD type of Eaton circuit breaker which uses a non-interchangeable fixed thermal magnetic trip module. The G-frame GD3015 measures 3.8 x 3.8 x 6.6 inches. The weight of the GD3015 is 2 pounds. The following accessories are available for the GD3015: a lock dog, an auxiliary switch, a shunt trip, and an alarm and lockout switch. After the installation of the accessories, the UL listed GD3015 circuit breaker is factory sealed. The accessories can also be installed in the field, provided that field installation is allowed by the local regulations.
The 3-pole GD3015 is rated for 15 Amps of current. The voltage specifications for the GD3015 are 125 to 250 Volts DC and 480 Volts AC (at 50 to 60 Hertz). The kiloamps interrupting capacity specifications for the GD3015 at 240 and 480 Volts AC are 65 and 15 kiloamps of interrupting capacity, respectively. Before installation, the specifications of the circuit breaker should be compared with the system requirements for the system it will be connected to. Contact with high voltage electrical equipment can lead to injury and serious damage, so the installation and maintenance of the GD3015 should only be performed by trained and experienced personnel. During installation and maintenance, the GD3015 should be switched off. Any other electrical equipment should also be switched off and the working area should be clear of voltage. The GD3015 should be inspected periodically. During the inspection, any dirt, grease, and soot should be removed. The circuit breaker should be checked for cracks and discoloration. Breakers with severe discoloration or cracks should be replaced.
