The Eaton HFD4080 is a circuit breaker with a protective molded case. It is designed and manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The main application of this molded case circuit breaker is in environments with a high supply of electricity and with highly sensitive machinery. The function of this device is to check for any excessive currents in the system and protect the overall circuitry of the machines. The HFD4080 belongs to the Eaton Series HFD of Eaton Cutler-Hammer molded case circuit breakers.
The HFD4080 molded case circuit breaker runs with 80 Amps of current. The voltage ratings are set at 250 Volts for a DC supply and at 600 Volts for an AC supply. The enclosure is a NEMA type of enclosure and it can be mounted using a DIN rail. The frequency of the overall operation is 60 Hertz at the maximum load and 50 Hertz for a normal load. This device comes with 4 poles and it is mostly used with AC circuits which are single-phase. It can also be used with DC circuits with safe poles. For the normal operation, the maximum ambient temperature is rated at 40 degrees Celsius. The HFD4080 has passed different operating and environmental standard like the UL standards.
