Manufactured by Cutler-Hammer, the HFD3175 is a molded case circuit breaker. With 3 poles and 175 Amps of current capacity, this circuit breaker has an F type of frame. It features a high Interruption rating of 100 kAIC at 240 Volts AC or 22 kAIC at 250 Volts AC (IEC). The HFD3175 circuit breaker has a method for thermal magnetic tripping as well as a standard pressure load terminal. The HFD3175 is also known by the alternative part number HFD-3175. Other features of the HFD3175 include a terminal standard pressure load terminal, the applicable IEC 157-1 standard, and dimensions of 4.125 x 3.375 x 6 inches. This authentic Cutler-Hammer product is UL-listed.
The manual operation of the Cutler-Hammer HFD3175 circuit breaker is regulated by a push-to-trip button and by a circuit breaker handle. This circuit breaker handle has 3 marked positions, 2 of which are shown on the cover in raised letters to indicate if the machine is on or off. The sliding handle barrier has the on, off, and trip positions are shown by a color-coded strip for each circuit breaker handle position: red for off, green for on, and white for trip. The on or off status is also shown by using international symbols on the sliding handle barrier. After tripping occurs, reset the circuit breaker by moving the circuit breaker handle to the farthest possible off position. When there is a thermal trip, the HFD3175 circuit breaker cannot be reset unless the thermal element has cooled. The push-to-trip button helps in checking the tripping functions, and at the same time, it occasionally exercises the operating mechanism.
