The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HFD3090 Series C Circuit Breaker is an F-Frame, molded case circuit breaker with a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit, which provides robust circuit protection in a low voltage distribution system. The HFD3090 is designed with a 3-pole plug which is suitable for both 1-phase and 3 phase applications and it is also designed for direct voltage, current, and interruption with it 3 poles wired in series. The HFD3090 has a 90A maximum continuous current rating at 600 Volt AC and 250 Volt DC operating voltage, and it offers a UL489 and EC 157-1 rated maximum interrupting capacity of 65 KAIC at 480 volt AC. It is designed with load end only terminals and is designed for reverse feed use. The HFD3090 has a thermal magnetic trip element made of a bimetal strip, which provides trip on overload using an electromagnet in series with line load current, and it has a trip free operating mechanism and an arc extinguisher as integral components. It is HACR (Heating, Air-conditioning, and Refrigerating) rated, and it is designed with a load end terminal that provides installation flexibility. The HFD3090 is designed with a molded casing which enclosed the integral components and prevents an error from human alteration. This circuit like all Series C circuit breakers has a 60 degree Celsius designated ambient temperature limit, and it has a total mounting dimension of 105.0 x 152.4 x 68 millimeters (4.13 x 6.0 x 3.38 inches), and it has a net weight of 2.0 Kilograms (4.5 pounds).
